What I Would Tell Every “Christian” Teen

What I Would Tell Every “Christian” Teen

What I have seen among Christian teens in our area is something that, I am certain, is true in other parts of our country. Upon graduation from high school Christian teens, not a few, graduate from their churches. I simply mean that the teens leave, as if they were never a part of that local church.

For sake of brevity, I would warn all those who work with Christian teens; and I would warn every Christian teen. Warning: When you grow up in an environment where you hear the Word of God continually, you must know that rejecting the Word of God will make you to have hardness of heart; while receiving and obeying the Word of God will allow growth in the knowledge of God and in love for Him.

Some people think that Christian schools and summer camps will fix their teens; but, in reality, those entities will only present other opportunities for the students to become either harder or softer [in heart] to the Lord. Hence, I would tell every professing Christian teen the same thing I said last week. Learn to love the Word of God and the God of the Word. Obey His Word.

Matthew 13:15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

The issue at hand is that while we may pray them free from the demonic hooks of the world or pray for it to occur, there is something else to accept. For 18 years the world has been telling our kids (in no uncertain terms) that:
    – Morality does not exist.
    – The Bible is a legend and only fools believe its authenticity.
    – Sin does not exist, – harm to another human exists – but defiling of the self is impossible.

These helpless kids have been bombarded with hypersexualised media and levels of violence and depravity UNHEARD OF just a generation ago.

Bottom lines: The world hates us because we testify that its works are evil, we have the foundation and experience to know it.
Our children have made choices themselves and we are not their only teachers.
Just saying that we should all have a robe, a ring and a fatted calf ready when our kids take wing.
