Jim Winters was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, and has been in the ministry for over 42 years.

In the Fall of 1967, Jim began studying for full time Christian service at the Bible Baptist Seminary in Arlington, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree in May of 1971. He soon after took several graduate courses at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Brother Winters has been involved with three ministries throughout his life. From 1971 to 1979 he was at the Calvary Baptist Church in Wayne, Michigan. The Lord then led him and his family to Worth Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas until July of 1987, when God directed him to assume the position of Music Pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio.  When Dr. Fernandez officially became Pastor in May 2013, he shortly afterward asked Bro. Winters to be his Associate Pastor.

Brother Winters’ primary ministry is to oversee all the music at Grace, from children through adults. This entails everything from directing congregational singing, the adult choir, orchestra, special ensembles, and planning special music at all special services and conferences. He is also responsible for coordinating the Multi-media ministry and advertising outreach. Brother Winters has also been privileged to be director of the Jolly 60’s [Senior Citizens ministry] since the Fall of 1989. He teaches the Harvesters [married adult Sunday school class] each Sunday morning and does visitation throughout the week. The church/school building insurance and employee medical insurance fall under his responsibility as well. Brother Winters also oversees the church’s cemetery, Grace Memorial Gardens.

Jim Winters is married to the former Sharon Kaye Fields of Brunswick, Ohio. They have three wonderful, married children, Twana, Damon, and Tonya, who have blessed their parents with 12 beautiful grandchildren.
