A Note from Our Pastor
Wow! The last several weeks have certainly been unusual – unusual in a good way. In the midst of such pandemic, we know that the LORD is in absolute control, and the opportunities afforded to us is evidence of this wonderful control. The way may seem grim on the surface, but a closer look reveals that we have greater opportunities to preach the wonderful gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. In addition to the preaching of the gospel to those who do not know Christ, we have increased opportunities to preach the gospel to other saints. We all need these gospel reminders.

This Week’s Recap
As Paul wrapped up his dissertation on the resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15, he concluded with these words: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” This is because we can rest in the secure knowledge that ultimate victory is ours through the work of Christ. May this be a great encouragement during these times which are unprecedented for our generation.
It has been so encouraging to observe how many of you have been steadfast in God’s work this past week, working to get the gospel into the hands of friends and coworkers, or making specific efforts to edify one another.
Augmented by some of you, the staff team has assisted in the delivery of 450 school meals, delivered 29 individual meals to many of our shut-ins and elderly members (courtesy of Veracruz Mexican Restaurant), served 40 families at Enabled Food Pantry, prepared and delivered cards of encouragement for health care workers at Atrium Hospital, dropped off donuts and cards at Kettering Medical Center, posted two more clear gospel presentations, live-streamed several special GBC Kids programming events – including a spirited scavenger hunt, held multiple online Bible studies and group gatherings via ZOOM, recorded and posted Sunday School, Sunday morning and evening services, and the Wednesday evening prayer service. Several of our Sunday School teachers were spotted making house visits to their class members as well. What a great week in the Lord!
We are looking forward to more opportunities to encourage local businesses and provide evangelistic care for our healthcare workers and first responders. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to assist in our overall mission to share the gospel, disciple, and edify the body.
